Post Lesson::: Reflections
(A) It was mentioned that "the mark of puberty between the ages of 13 and 17 signalled emotional maturity – a sign of readiness for a relationship". Do you agree that between 13 and 17 is a good time to go steady? And why?
(B) Interestingly, the article also mentions that sex was not a major factor when dating but rather companionship and conversation. Based on your own experience or interaction with your peers, how accurate or true is that opinion of our youths in Singapore?
(a) No, I don't agree. It's because when we are between 13 and 17 we are not mature enough to think properly and make the right choice. We may make mistakes.
(B)It's true because a relationship will be better if we conversate often with our partners and this will improve the relationship. SO, conversations and companionship is a major factor.

(A) No. Students are not mature enough between 13 and 17. They might make mistakes and cause them to regret it for their whole life. Hence i disagree.
(B)It is very accurate and true. Most youths like ashley says that. For couples to improve their relationship, they have to have conversations together most of the time to understand much better about their partner.

Session 4: Cyber Bullying
The statement is false. Sticks and stones can truly hurt your bones and physically. But words can be a great impact on a person-mentally. The person that is insulted by the ugly words, would be shocked, sad, hurt and maybe frightened by it. Words can hurt you mentally and also physically. The person may be traumatised and would not be able to recover very quickly. It may also affect their mood, causing their studies to deprove quickly. They may hurt themselves if they could not take it.

Session 2 : Cybercrap
Subject: 81 feared dead from swine flu in MexicoI sent this email to you with a very heavy heart. I’m sure you have heard of the recent swine flu outbreak. Novel influenza A (H1N1) is a new flu virus of swine origin that was first detected in April, 2009. The virus is infecting people and is spreading from person-to-person, and has sparked a growing outbreak of illness in the United States with an increasing number of cases being reported internationally as well.To date, A/H1N1 flu has killed 337 people in 121 nations and regions and the number of the total infected exceeded 80,000, a top official of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Thursday. There are already 1003 cases in Singapore, a country known for its stringent health measures.Just FYI, in 1918, there was flu pandemic -commonly known as the Spanish flu- which was caused by an unusually severe and deadly Influenza A virus strain of subtype H1N1, claimed the lives of 50-100 million people. Researchers are speculating if the one that is ongoing will have that high number of death tolls, that is, if the pandemic persists. I’ve attached a file on how to protect yourself during this period of outbreak. I sincerely urged you to take a look at it, so that you can take the said preventive measures. You are not only protecting yourself, but also the people around you.My cousin, who lives in Mexico, introduced me to a type of medicine that is said to work effectively. I’ve also given you the link in the file attachment. I strongly encourage you to purchase the medicine, as I have also purchased it myself.Yours sincerely,Max Wilkertin
Now, what should John do? Should he open the file attachment? Should he buy the medicine?
He should not open the file attachment. Neither should he buy the medicine. As if it is really urgent, the sender would not send through email as it would be fast and efficient enough, the television station or the newspaper would report it if it is really urgent, but no. The sender sends this message through email and even stated his opinion "I strongly encourage you to purchase the medicine" hence it shows that this email is 'CRAP'.
Session 5G : Online Relationships
No, I don't think girls at her age normally thinks like this. I don't think it is appropriate to go into a relationship at my age. As I don't think we should be dating, we should concentrate on studies now and wait till we've grown up to about 20 years old, then start thinking of dating. By then, our minds would be more mature to take up this responsibility. As boys may not be mature at an age of 16 years old, they can make mistakes and hurt us girls as well as themselves.
